Dubai International Film Festival is about to get 'virtually real'!

The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) will launch ‘DIFFerent REALITY’, a brand new section of the programme presenting an international selection of virtual reality films spanning fiction, documentary and animation, giving DIFF audiences the opportunity to experience an immersive journey into the world of virtual reality.

In addition, at the Dubai Film Market (DFM), DIFF’s business hub of the festival will present delegates with a packed VR schedule including the chance to hear from the leading and emerging virtual reality creators, experience the latest technology from around the world through a range of interactive installations, meet like-minded creative people and get inspired.

DIFF’s Chairman, Abdulhamid Juma commented: “We have always been committed to discovering new talent and original storytelling to present exciting content that will entertain, educate and inspire DIFF audiences. VR gives filmmakers a new, immersive medium which is an exciting new direction for cinema and our compelling and engaging line-up of VR films push the technological boundaries of storytelling. We are extremely excited to bring some of the best VR experiences to DIFF this December and invite film fans to experience the future of storytelling firsthand.”
