Noura Al Kaabi Attends the 23rd International Exhibition at Triennale Milano

Wam.ae: Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, attended the opening ceremony of the 23rd International Exhibition at Triennale Milano as part of her four-day official trip to Milan.

Commenting on the Triennale opening, Al Kaabi said, "I am very pleased to be attending the 23rd International Exhibition at Triennale Milano. Witnessing the amalgamation of science and arts as we question the Unknown Unknowns and explore the mysteries of space through artworks and installations on display provokes our thoughts and presents endless possibilities.

"This exhibition gives us an opportunity to witness the works of artists, architects, designers, writers, and musicians, all under one roof. I would like to congratulate the curators of the exhibition for their extra-ordinary work, by displaying masterpieces from all corners of the world. We have witnessed impressive exhibits from Japan, United States, Turkey, Italy and many other countries of the world. We have always believed that culture bridges humanity and offers the space to expand creativity globally, the Triennale Milano is no exception and we look forward to the collaboration opportunities we have discussed here in Milano to be exhibited on the ground in the UAE in the very near future."

The 23rd International Exhibition entitled ‘Unknown Unknowns. An Introduction to Mysteries’ is curated by Ersilia Vaudo, Astrophysicist and Chief Diversity Officer of the European Space Agency and runs from July 15 to December 11, 2022.

The opening ceremony took place at the Triennale Theatre and was attended by a number of ministers, government officials and cultural ambassadors from Italy and other countries including Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy; Elena Bonetti, Minister for Equal Opportunities and Family in Italy; Maja Gojkovic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Media in Republic of Serbia; Ondrey Chrast, Deputy of the Minister of Culture in Czech Republic; Guiseppa Sala, Major of Milano; Carla Morogallo, Director General, Triennale Milano; Atilio Fontana, President of Lombardy Region; Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of Bureau International Exhibition (BIE); and Bendetta Miralles Tagliabue, President of Bee Awards jury.

The main curators of the exhibition Ersilia Vaudo and Frances Kere were introduced to the guests during the opening ceremony, which was also accompanied by an award ceremony to honour the top three international pavilions with Bee Awards.

Following the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition, Noura Al Kaabi held an exclusive meeting with Stephano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano to discuss avenues for cooperation in the field of art and culture.

The Ministry’s delegation led by Al Kaabi also visited Instituto Marangoni, which recently opened a branch in Dubai to offer fashion and design courses in the UAE. With schools in Milan, Firenze, Paris and London, the institute is set to welcome its first batch of students in its Dubai branch this September.

The International Exhibition presents more than a hundred works, projects and installations by international artists, researchers and designers dealing with the unknown and addresses a series of themes including gravity, maps, architecture in space and the mysteries of deep space. It is conceived as a space for open and plural debate and comparison, where different experiences, cultures and perspectives can converge.
